Sheep Gate Farm is a suburban hobby farm. Sustainable, organic farming is fun, healthy and rewarding. An important part of Sheep Gate Farm are beautiful, friendly, dairy goats. Choosing the Mini Nubian Dairy Goat as a breed was easy. They are the perfect size for a backyard hobby farm, they have remarkable personalities and abundant rich milk. Dairy goats have lived alongside humankind for centuries. They were the first domesticated animal. They are not only intelligent and friendly but also produce delicious and digestible immune boosting milk that can be made into yogurt, cheese, ice cream, soap, lotion and much more. If you want to stay close to your food source the Mini Nubian Dairy Goat is a delightful addition to any hobby farm, suburban backyard or small homestead.
At Sheep Gate Farm, I breed registered Mini Nubians for dairy capacity, docile temperaments, good conformation and small size. They are a disease free herd and have tested normal for G6S and tested negative for CAE, CL and Johne's in 2015. They are raised in a natural setting with the ability to supplement hay and grain with forage and pasture. Kids are dam raised and handled daily. Kids are eating hay and grain and ready to leave for their new homes between 9 and 10 weeks old. They are vaccinated for Tetanus and Enterotoxaemia, dewormed, disbudded and hooves trimmed before they leave.
If you are interested in purchasing a Mini Nubian Dairy Goat, you can email me and I will put you on a wait list for kids arriving in the Spring of 2016. I no longer take deposits for reservations. I recommend that you contact me as kids start to arrive based on dates on the breeding page. Sales are on a first come first serve basis. I will do my best to contact all those on the wait list first before listing the kids for sale. Goats are herd animals and do not do well alone. Therefore if you do not already have another goat, consider purchasing two. I will not sell a goat that will be housed alone, that includes bucklings. Goats require adequate shelter and have specific nutritional requirements. If you are new to goats, I will be happy to answer any questions or point you to basic information about the requirements it takes to own a goat. For more information or to be put on the 2016 waitlist you can email me at Delodrini@aol.com
Test results for G6S and CAE, CL and Johne's are posted on the breeding page
